Accommodation

We hope that everyone has now booked their accommodation, as all accommodation in Cambridge is expensive and fills quickly, particularly in the Easter Holidays when the conference is held. There are no longer special offers in particular accommodation hosts, so delegates still to book are advised to locate their own accommodation through the multitude of well-known internet sites.

It is the responsibility of the individual delegates to ensure they have accommodation booked and that they are responsible for paying accommodation costs (for a minority of travel grant recipients rooms have been booked and paid for). Information regarding checking-in is provided below, and the attached map shows the location in Cambridge of the venue, recommended accommodation venues, train and bus stations.

JESUS COLLEGE

Those who have booked rooms in Jesus College are advised to come first to the registration desk on Sunday 14 April 2019 (open between 14:00 and 17:00 in the foyer of West Court, Jesus College). From there we will direct you to the appropriate place to book into your accommodation (either Jesus College Porters Lodge or West Court Reception). A map of Jesus College is available here.

If you are arriving outside these times, or on any date other than Sunday, we suggest that you email Jesus College directly (conference@jesus.cam.ac.uk) stating your name, booking reference, and detailing any issues you have around arrival or departure arrangements.

Those travel grant recipients staying in Jesus College with accommodation booked on their behalf (and not arriving during registration) will need to check in at Jesus Porters Lodge on their arrival date.

WESTMINSTER COLLEGE

We suggest those staying in Westminster College check into their accommodation first, then walk to Jesus College West Court to register for the meeting, between 14:00 and 17:00 on Sunday 14 April 2019.

SIDNEY SUSSEX COLLEGE

We suggest those staying in Sidney Sussex College check into their accommodation first then walk to Jesus College West Court to register for the meeting, between 14:00 and 17:00 on Sunday 14 April 2019.

ARUNDEL HOUSE HOTEL

Situated a short walk across Jesus Green and the river from Jesus College, this hotel overlooks the famous river Cam. We suggest those staying in Arundel House Hotel check into their accommodation first, then walk to Jesus College West Court to register for the meeting, between 14:00 and 17:00 on Sunday 14 April 2019.

We are arranging with Jesus College that the “back gate” will be open at the following times, to enable easier access to Arundel House Hotel.

Sunday 14 April 16:00–16:30 and again at 21:30–22:00
Monday–Friday (15–19 April) 8:00–8:30
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (15, 16, 18 April) 22:00–22:30
Wednesday 17 April 22:30–23:00

TRAVELODGE CAMBRIDGE (NEWMARKET ROAD)

Situated about 15 minutes’ walk away from Cambridge Town centre and Jesus College into the more commercial region of the city, the Travelodge is part of a chain of budget hotels in the UK. We suggest those staying in Travelodge check into their accommodation first, then walk to Jesus College West Court to register for the meeting, between 14:00 and 17:00 on Sunday 14 April 2019.
